ParivarWall Privacy Policy

Last updated 28 August 2026

Your family's data is stored on ParivarWall's backend so that it can sync between everyone in your household. We use Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore), hosted in the European Union. You have an account with us, and as the operator of that backend we are technically able to access what it holds — we do not do so except where it is necessary to fix a fault or where the law requires it. There is no advertising, no analytics, no tracking, and we do not sell or share your data with anyone.

This is a change from earlier versions of ParivarWall, which stored everything in your own iCloud and had no servers at all. That design could not deliver a child's location to a parent quickly or reliably, and could not work across both iPhone and Android, so the app now syncs through the backend described here. This policy was rewritten to describe that honestly.

What the app stores

DataWhy
Name, and the role you have in your householdSo the family can tell who is who, and what each person is allowed to do.
Email address, if your sign-in provider gives oneShown back to you in Settings. Never used to contact you.
Date of birthDecides whether someone is a minor, which is what decides whether their device shares a location at all.
Photos you chooseProfile pictures and a household cover photo.
Calendar events, lists, chores, schedules, messages and reactionsThe things the app is for.
Location — minors onlySee below.
Whether your household has an active ParivarWall Pro subscriptionDecides whether a Kid's device is allowed to share a location. See Subscription.
A notification token for each device you sign in onSo the app can be woken to deliver a status or location update, or a safe-zone alert, while it is not open. Removed when you sign out.
A diagnostic log of recent app eventsKept per device so a sync problem can be investigated. Contains status and timing information, never message text or coordinates. The most recent entries only.

Where it is stored

In Google Cloud Firestore, in Google's europe-west multi-region — that is, on servers inside the European Union. Google acts as our processor under Firebase's privacy and security terms; we are the controller. Access is restricted by server-side security rules so that only signed-in members of a given household can read that household's data.

Location

Only a device belonging to someone with the Kid role reports its position, and only once the household has an active ParivarWall Pro subscription — see Subscription below. Adults' devices never report a location — they share a status word instead ("Home", "Out", "Busy"). A household admin can switch a child's location sharing off entirely, and the app stops reporting immediately when they do; the same is true the moment a subscription lapses or is refunded, whether or not anyone touches the toggle.

A position is visible only to the members of that child's household. It is stored in our Firestore database in the EU, protected by security rules that refuse the read to anyone who is not a current member of that household. Only the most recent position is kept — the app does not build a location history or a movement trail.

If you set up Places (safe zones), the app records when a child arrives at or leaves one, and tells the adults in the household. That record is stored the same way as everything else, and the most recent hundred are kept per household.

Children

ParivarWall is designed for a family to use together, and a child's account is created by an adult in the household who chooses their role and what they can do. An adult can turn a child's location sharing on or off at any time from the family tree, and turning it on also requires the household to have ParivarWall Pro — see Subscription.

We do not collect anything from children beyond what is listed above, we do not profile children, and we never use a child's data for advertising or analytics of any kind. A child's data is stored on our backend under the same protections as everyone else's, and is readable only by members of their own household. An adult in the household can delete a child's account and its data at any time.

Who can see your data

Deleting your data

Settings → Delete Account removes you from every household on the device and everywhere they sync. Any household you are the last member of is deleted outright, with everything in it. Households with other people in them carry on without you — their data is theirs, not yours to delete.

Delete Account runs on our backend, not just on your phone: it removes you from every household you belong to, deletes any household you were the last member of along with everything inside it, removes your invites, your device notification tokens and your stored profile, and finally deletes your sign-in credentials. Deleting the app on its own does not do this — it only removes the copy on that device — so use Delete Account if you want your data gone from our servers.

You can also write to us at the address below to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it erased.

Subscription

Location sharing for a Kid is part of ParivarWall Pro, an auto-renewing subscription (monthly or yearly, with a free trial) sold and billed through the App Store on iPhone and Google Play on Android. We never see your card number, billing address, or any other payment detail. To confirm a subscription is genuine we send the transaction identifier the store gave us back to Apple or Google for verification, and store the result — whether the household is currently entitled, and when that entitlement expires — against your household. One subscription covers everyone in that household. Cancelling or requesting a refund takes effect in the app automatically, because the stores notify our backend directly.

Tracking

ParivarWall does not track you. It contains no analytics SDK, no advertising identifier, no crash-reporting SDK, and no third-party trackers — the only Firebase components in the app are Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions and Cloud Messaging. The app talks to our Firebase backend, to your chosen sign-in provider (Apple or Google) when you sign in, to Apple's or Google's store for the subscription above, and to Google Places when you search for an address while creating a safe zone. Nothing else.

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the previous versions remain in this repository's history.
